Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with game designers and frontend programmers to implement new game features
  • Implement the server-side of new game features using PHP or ASP.Net in combination with MySQL
  • Work on the backend architecture of our game servers and on the general technical framework to support games
  • Design, implement and maintain data persistency layouts and caching systems using MySQL, memcached and/or Redis
  • Identify and solve game production problems

Requirements:

  • Good PHP and/or C# programming and object-oriented design skills
  • Very good knowledge about the functionality as well as languages of relational as well as NoSQL databases

At Aesir Interactive, located in Munich, Germany, we look for people who have passion for what they do and work well in teams to create fun and challenging games and VR/AR projects.

As Technical Artist you are familiar with UE4 / Unity and know how to work with the tools the engine provides. Improving performance and visual quality is your main goal.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Work within Unity and Unreal engine to create scenes, prefabs, animations and visual effects
  • Create high-quality user interfaces and work on animations and visual effects for user feedback
  • Integrate art assets and provide them with the functionalities needed for the game
  • Support our artists on creating the best possible assets and animations by improving our production pipelines, finding and creating useful tools and help them deal with technical requirements
  • Be a key position in our game development process by aligning the requirements from our tech and game design departments with the visual goals of the project
  • In depth profiling for PC, iOS and Android

Who are we looking for:

  • Knowledge in C# to create or help creating tools and support our programmers
  • Knowledge of how shaders and materials work and ability to create your own
  • Knowledge of how rendering in an engine works (what are draw calls, texture memory, etc.) for optimization
  • A great artistic skill set, extensive knowledge of color and lighting and how to achieve the best visual style for a scene
  • Familiarity with Photoshop
  • Basic knowledge in 3D modeling and the willingness to learn new software such as substance designer
  • The integration of assets, particle effects and materials
  • The creation of scripts an shaders to achieve the best visuals and performance

As Game Designer, you are responsible for one or multiple game features from idea over implementation to iteration. You are the go-to-guy for all questions regarding your features and in constant collaboration with programmers and artists of your feature team.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating and documenting feature designs (incl. UI mock ups)
  • Communicating your designs to the development team
  • Supporting the feature implementation as responsible designer
  • Tweaking and balancing game play features
  • Evaluating and iterating implemented designs

Requirements:

  • Excellent understanding of game mechanics
  • Analytical mindset and structured way of working
  • Creativity paired with realistic perception of a feature’s scope
  • Basic understanding of working with game engines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Open for constructive feedback and ideas from the whole team
  • Fluently written and spoken English
  • At least 2 years experience as a game designer
